Scissor Tables™ by PS Furniture — Fold-In-Half Design, Easy Room Setup

Fold-In-Half Design, Easy Room Setup

Scissor Tables™ by PS Furniture bring full-size table capacity to rooms where conventional tables are difficult to place, move, or store. Their vertical fold-in-half design makes flexible room setup a practical part of the table itself.

Why the fold-in-half design matters

Large tables can be useful in training rooms, conference spaces, dining areas, and multipurpose facilities, but their size often creates a problem before a meeting or class even begins. Narrow doorways, elevators, compact storage areas, and irregular floor plans can make a standard table difficult to position.

Scissor Tables™ address that challenge by folding vertically at the center. Once opened, the two halves meet without an unsightly gap, creating a continuous work surface. When the room needs to change, the table can be folded and rolled on its casters rather than maneuvered as one large, rigid piece.

One table for changing room layouts

The design suits spaces that serve more than one purpose. A rectangular Scissor Table™ can support training sessions, presentations, or collaborative work. Round, oval, square, and hexagon options provide different ways to shape group interaction, from face-to-face discussion to shared project work.

Sizes and finishes for a tailored fit

Scissor Tables™ are offered in several useful footprints: 60-inch round and hexagon tops, a 48-by-48-inch square, 48-by-79-inch oval, and rectangular tops measuring 30-by-72, 30-by-96, 48-by-72, or 48-by-96 inches. That range helps facilities match table capacity to the room instead of forcing every space into the same layout.

For the tabletop, buyers can select a Formica® or Wilsonart® laminate surface. The edge uses matching edge banding for a coordinated appearance. A cast aluminum column, matte black powdercoat, and matte black feet complete the standard base, with a specified oval and rectangular configuration also available with polished aluminum feet while supplies last.

Built for practical room changes

Casters support movement during setup, while the center-folding construction allows a large table to fit through doorways and into elevators in its folded position. The design also has zero pinch points, an important consideration when staff are repositioning tables in active classrooms, meeting rooms, or event areas.

Scissor Tables™ are especially well suited to schools, corporate offices, training centers, healthcare facilities, hospitality venues, and other organizations that regularly convert rooms for different activities. They give facility planners more freedom to use difficult spaces without sacrificing the presence of a substantial table when it is needed.

What sets Scissor Tables™ apart

The standout feature is not simply that the table folds. It is that the vertical fold is paired with a finished, gap-free surface, multiple shapes and sizes, casters, and a base designed for repeated room reconfiguration. The result is a table that supports both the active use of a space and the work required to change it.

Scissor Tables™ must be assembled according to the manufacturer’s instructions. They are not intended to be stood on or used as a step, and improper assembly can void the manufacturer’s warranty. For facilities seeking a flexible table solution, the central idea remains straightforward: fold it in half, roll it into position, and make more room layouts possible.
